Wichita Little Sisters Celebrates 25 years

Wichita Little Sisters are Celebrating 25 Years this month. Below is a PowerPoint done at their 20 year Anniversary in March 2012.

History of the Wichita Little Sisters

The Wichita Little Sisters (kirikir§i:s ita:cisikic) is an organization that was formed in 1992. Its creation was initiated by Ardina Standing McAdams whose dream was to educate young Native American ladies about their culture. She joined in this pursuit with Cleta Ataddlety and the late Eva Warden Cozad. The girls are taught the traditions, customs and history of their Tribes and how to conduct themselves in and out of the dance area. Cassandra McAdams, daughter of Gary and Ardina McAdams, now leads the organization.

Although the organization began as a Wichita organization, it is open to girls of all tribal affiliations. During its twenty five years of existence, girls from many tribes: the Wichita, Caddo, Comanche, Kiowa, Apache, Delaware, Pawnee, Cheyenne, Absentee-Shawnee and Navajo to name a few, have been members of the Wichita Little Sisters.
